Nutcracker part I & II

So a couple weeks ago I had to go shoot the kids nutcracker put on by the New Albany Ballet Company. I had a great time shooting the kids, but like most production it was over an hour late and ran forever. Anyways, I tried to go for something different at the kids one. I think I got something nice of the nutcracker with a man running around it. But, I overexposed the shot, damn stage lighting, I think I might have saved it. Still an ok IIIustration, right? I also like the shot of the girls on their tippey toes with their ballet flats, one in color and the rest not. I tried to shoot something like that at the adult nutcracker put on by Balletmet. I don't know what one I like better. The other shot is nice overall and we ran it on the speedread page and in color.

First ever career day

Today was my first ever career day, and it was great. I went into a class of 18 first graders today and talked about my job and showed them ton of pictures. The whole things lasted about an hour and I had a blast. The kids were great, i even let every kid take some pictures with my camera. The camera was on a tripod, so nothing could happen to it.

Vote for me please!

The Dispatch will print its annual “Year in Pictures” special section, in which each photographer offers one favorite image from among the thousands shot in 2008. This year i turned in a sweet picture of a kid waiting to play ping pong. There are some some great images from this year. But, you should vote for me. Thanks

Gracie and Snow!

Gracie loves to be outside and today was no different even if there was snow. My friend now calls Gracie a DAC short for (Dog And Cat). I think she is right about calling her a DAC, I love having a cat who is also like a dog, is great.

Family

Its all about family and family first. I headed up to Chicago last weekend for Thanksgiving and had a blast with all my family. I always love to heading up Chicago and kicking it with my aunt, uncle and their kids. I tend to forget everything else that is going on in the world and just have fun with family. I hope that everyone else had a blast with family on Thanksgiving.
