Nutcracker part I & II

So a couple weeks ago I had to go shoot the kids nutcracker put on by the New Albany Ballet Company. I had a great time shooting the kids, but like most production it was over an hour late and ran forever. Anyways, I tried to go for something different at the kids one. I think I got something nice of the nutcracker with a man running around it. But, I overexposed the shot, damn stage lighting, I think I might have saved it. Still an ok IIIustration, right? I also like the shot of the girls on their tippey toes with their ballet flats, one in color and the rest not. I tried to shoot something like that at the adult nutcracker put on by Balletmet. I don't know what one I like better. The other shot is nice overall and we ran it on the speedread page and in color.

First ever career day

Today was my first ever career day, and it was great. I went into a class of 18 first graders today and talked about my job and showed them ton of pictures. The whole things lasted about an hour and I had a blast. The kids were great, i even let every kid take some pictures with my camera. The camera was on a tripod, so nothing could happen to it.

Vote for me please!

The Dispatch will print its annual “Year in Pictures” special section, in which each photographer offers one favorite image from among the thousands shot in 2008. This year i turned in a sweet picture of a kid waiting to play ping pong. There are some some great images from this year. But, you should vote for me. Thanks

Gracie and Snow!

Gracie loves to be outside and today was no different even if there was snow. My friend now calls Gracie a DAC short for (Dog And Cat). I think she is right about calling her a DAC, I love having a cat who is also like a dog, is great.

Family

Its all about family and family first. I headed up to Chicago last weekend for Thanksgiving and had a blast with all my family. I always love to heading up Chicago and kicking it with my aunt, uncle and their kids. I tend to forget everything else that is going on in the world and just have fun with family. I hope that everyone else had a blast with family on Thanksgiving.

Columbus Crew

I have been a huge fan of the crew since they first started playing in columbus 13 years ago. I remember going to games at the horse shoe, and the first couple of years at their new stadium. I had to cover the Eastern Conference final on thursday night and had a blast covering it. The crew won, 2-1 over the Chicago Fire and now i get to head out to LA to cover the game. The game was one of the best soccer games i have been to in a long time. Anyways, here are some pictures. Kyle

CBJ

Sorry its been about 3 weeks since my last blog, crazy stuff going on. Anyways, I have always liked hockey but once i started shooting bluejackets games i started to get into it. Over the last couple of years i have tried to get my brother in the cbj, and i think that this year i hooked him in. Its kinda of nice that that we both really like the cbj, because he loves michigan and i love osu. This year through work, the dispatch owns 10% of the jackets, we got season tickets. Our first game is Nov 29. But until then here are some pictures from my first cbj game of the season. Can you guess what picture I am making into a poster my for brother for xmas?!??!

Pumpkins

My little brother Kasey and was in town this week and we had a little fun. Kasey has never craved a pumpkin in his life, so we went at it. I decided to draw a black cat and Kasey wanted to make a normal one. Kasey was in town because he has fall break, one whole week off from school and he is in 7th grade. I know we didn't have anything like this hilliard back in the day.

Rome Day 3

Day 3 was the longest but the best day of the trip. We got up early and headed down to the Vatican. The Vatican is super cool, one of the best places to go in Rome. Jeff and I took a jumped into a tour, if you go you have to go with a tour. You learn so much information on the tours that its worth the extra money. I took a picture of the Sistine Chapel, even thou you weren't allowed too. We also went to St. Peter's Basilica, super cool place its the biggest church in the world. After that we walked down to the Coliseum and spend a couple hours there too. After that we spend the next 8 hours at an irish pub, i know 8 hours. We made new friends from England, Spain, Iowa St., Chicago and Boston and even ran into 4 students from OU. It was great to see other bobcats in rome. Enjoy, heading back home tomorrow.

Day Two in Rome

So Jeff and I went around Rome today with no plan, just going where ever we wanted. I had a blast, eat great food, and had a few drinks. Here is the recap of two day. Enjoy! Rome is Great

Rome Day One

Day one is rome was crazy. I only got 2 hours of sleep on the plane, and got in at 1030 in the morning. So in 48 hours i had only 2 hours of sleep on the plane. I went to bed last night at 330 in the morning, Crazy. Rome is great, not great if you want to buy red bull cause it cost over 10$ dollars for one, 1.99 $ in the states. Once had a 3 hour dinner for 6 people that cost over 400$ unreal.
